Several days without writing, for which I apologise. Work has been very intense indeed, about 500 pages of reports needing the usual heavy handed editing, to be done in a tearing hurry as usual. But the first edit of the last is now in my Drafts folder and will be sent shortly.
US politics is even uglier than usual, the face of it the description of Trump’s genitals as proferred by Stormy Daniels, swiftly followed by this disgusting business around the Kavanaugh confirmation to the Supreme Court. It is really ugly, and I do wonder about the women who continue to support these people. Well, if one could get psat ‘grab em by the pussy’ one could get past anything.
Nepal is now on the near horizon and I am getting quite excited. It will be nice to be back in my own part of the world, and a new bit of it – the only other part of the subcontinent I’ve visited is Delhi a couple of times.
Speaking of horizons – I got it into my head a couple of days ago that having seen the sunset every night, I now wanted to see the moonset over the sea. So I woke up at around 4.30 to find the full moon bright and at about 70 degrees from the horizon. I worked for a bit, then at around 6 woke up the Gentleman Friend as the sky was distinctly lightening. We walked down to the harbour – correctly, I walked and he staggered, not being one who takes to early rising well. There to find clouds obscuring what was left of the full moon in a brightening sky.
It was pleasant but definitely a disappointment, and the GF promptly came down with a cold and is now sniffling on the sofa.
